Researching the Transformation of Educational Leadership in Early Childhood Education

Overview

This aim of this project was to research, during a six-month collaborative program of research and professional learning, the capacity of Educational Leaders in childcare to engage with re-conceptualised practices of educational leadership. The project investigated an approach to the development of educational leaders in childcare that shifts the focus of leadership-for-learning from individual staff development to system-level development. Our hypothesis as that, by taking a centre systems-level approach, participants in the project would be able to make centre-wide transformative and sustainable changes in leadership outcomes to enhance the learning and well-being of children and families in childcare.
